Vanessa and David! New Years Eve! #200!

First off, wow. This night was a culmination of a lot of things. An amazing wedding, a loving couple, New Years Eve (my wife came with me!), and my official 200th wedding that I’ve photographed over the past 6 years. How random that such a big number ended up on New Years Eve.

Vanessa and David’s winter wedding was at the Inn at Longshore. I managed to get them out in the fresh snow for a few photos without messing up the dress!

I love working with the ah-mazing as always Naomi Martinez, makeup artist. The dogs seemed to know they would be left home all day.

One of the engagement session photos ended up in their music boxes!

I setup a first look for them since their family pictures were being done before the ceremony. I love doing first looks.

Their florist over at Daniel Florals and Events, Inc. was just amazing.

Can I just tell you how proud I am of the photo on the left? It was taken by my “I’m not a Photographer, I’m a Physical Therapist” wife. I did setup the camera on manual, preset the focus, and showed her how I wanted it framed, when to take it… and she got it! Go honey!

The kids were adorable watching the ceremony.

How good does the Inn at Longshore look? The florist again with some amazing work.

Very emotional dances with Vanessa and her uncle, and David with his mom.

Count down with me!!!! 3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!!!!!!

Every time I looked over at them they were kissing. An amazing couple.

Dare I say it again? As always at the bottom of a wedding post… This has been wedding number 200!!!!!

Emily and Eric!

I was back in Boston for Emily and Eric’s wedding! I really do love it in Boston. And how can you not love photographing there with two amazing people? And an amazing wedding? While it was amazingly cold out, Emily and Eric had no problems keeping a smile inbetween the shivers.

On a side note, I’m starting a new thing here on my blog with how I display my images. In the past everything was a single stand alone image. Now I’m starting something I’ve been meaning to do for a while, photo collages. I’ve discovered an easier way to put these together. There will be a few stand alone images, but I hope to continue doing this gallery style from now one. It’s a little time consuming, but I know it’s totally worth it! Plus I get to share more images while posting fewer images which will make my blog load faster. Enjoy!

Even their dog got dressed up!

What a great view from their family’s place in Boston.

I ran outside for the opposite angle too.

There were caroler’s greeting guests are the church.

My associate shooter Greg covered the guys.

What a beautiful church. Eric had to bite his lip and close his eyes when Emily was about to come down the isle.

A few quick wedding party shots and everyone was frozen!

How great is the view from The State Room? That’s a 360 degree photo.

I’m totally hooked on this photo of Emily and Eric dancing in the reflection of the windows. You can see the buildings in the floor!

Jacinta and Frank!

Jacinta and Frank got married at St Ann’s in Milford, then a stop at Yale University for portraits, followed by their reception at Cascade in Hamden. Jacinta was a little worried about the weather, but it held out all day! A perfect clouded over day for pictures.

Make-up was done by Naomi’s Salon!

The guys took a walk down the street from church for one last round!

Frank was so proud.

Franks dad makes his own wine. He made a special batch for the wedding.

Franks mom was so proud of him.

Jenay and George!

You may have seen Jenay and George in a few other weddings I’ve posted. I’ll explain why in one of the pictures below. We totally lucked out on the rain we thought we were going to get and had a perfect for photography clouded over day.

Jenay requested before the wedding day a silhouette. The mirror reflection was just a bonus in the shot.

George had his Harley out. I managed a shot in his very slim rearview mirror.

I setup a little space for them to see eachother for the first time.

All Jenay could talk about was how much she wanted her photos taken in front of this building on the Wesleyan campus.

I grabbed this great little moment of them checking out their rings after the ceremony.

The perfect October wedding treat, fresh apple pie.

The above photo, and the one below, were both taken using the videographers light. The same with the silhouette 3 photos up. You gotta use what you have!

Here we go! From left to right, Tiffany and Jeff, Jenay and George, Robin and Michael, and Amy and Jeff. I photographed all of their weddings from 2007-2009.

Again, requested that I do the sparklers.

This has been wedding announcement #197!

Sandra and Nelson

I’m back in New Rochelle at the VIP club for Sandra and Nelson. We timed the light just right for their portraits. It was another great wedding to cover! I feel like I’ve been so lucky this year with the weddings I’ve had.

Their wedding was on the 10th, so it’s only appropriate to use the 10 ball!

How awesome! I love grabbing someone elses flash in the photo. This worked out perfectly!

This could be one of my favorite photos this year.

Just when you thought the cake cutting was over, smash!

This has been wedding announcement #196! I wonder, who will be #200?!?!?!

Megan and Jason!

From what I heard from Megan’s Matron of Honor, there was quite the search for a photographer for their wedding. That makes me feel even more honored to be chosen. Megan and Jason had such a heartfelt wedding. It was easy to see the love between them and their families. The ceremony and reception was held at the Inn at Longshore in Westport.

Her veil was made by her Matron of Honor.

Jason entering Megan’s room as they see eachother for the first time.

Megan’s dad seeing Megan for the first time in her dress. The tears were flowing everywhere.

A little use of the veil that her Matron of Honor made.

The cake topper! You’d never know unless you looked at the back.

Nothing happened here! It’s all family! It’s all good! They just happened to be at that angle

Megan sang to Jason. She is a great singer!

Sparklers by request.

That was wedding #195! I’m coming up on #200!

Kristi and Doug!

Ever since their awesome engagement session in Newport, I’ve been waiting for this wedding!

I love this photo. Kristi’s mom was so emotional that day!

Doug trying to hold back the tears.

I love the reactions of the guests. You can see how guests react as the bride goes by, as they are right at the bride, and the guests about to get a close up.

We went over to the Taft School grounds for some of their portraits.

Then off to the Palace Theater for the reception.

Oh my, this just may be one of my favorite photos this year.

I almost forgot! This is wedding #194!

Stephanie and Leo!

Ok, so I know I said on the last post that I was going to put up more photos than usual. Let’s just repeat that, and probably double it. Stephanie and Leo had an amazing wedding between the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Bridgeport and their reception at The Surf Club in New Rochelle, NY.

Stephanie and Leo have been together for 8 years so everyone they know have been waiting for this day for a very long time. Stephanie is Portuguese and Leo is Greek, which brings two powerful cultures together to celebrate amazing traditions that are important to them and their guests. They really love the beach scene because it is a place they greatly relate to. The Surf Club was their perfect place for their vision of elegance and modern beauty on the ocean front. The teal accent colors of the decorations, lots of crystals, candles, branches, and lighting made their reception perfect. Stephanie says this was “A marriage of two cultures coming together based on love and happiness.”

Stephanie is in the makeup industry. Her makeup artist for the wedding trained her! She came out from Los Angeles.

I just got mesmerized by this photo.

Stephanie’s fathers has his own vineyard at his house where he makes his own wine.

Stephanie and her dad in his vineyard.

The guys where ready to go…

but not before playing a little football. They didn’t even put down the beers!

Just a few people in the wedding party. I had to go up to the church balcony to get everyone in!

I was just talking to a photographer friend of mine about the above image. She was wondering what I did with my flash to get this. I turned it off! This was natural light coming in through a window.

This is the newly remodeled staircase at the Surf Club.

We had 10 minutes of light left to take all these photos (and a lot more).

Everyone walked into the reception with a Portuguese or Greek flag.

A little lower Leo!

This has been wedding number 193!
In Portuguese? Este foi casamento número 193!
I don’t know that my Greek is any good (or if it will show properly on a web page due to all the symbols) Αυτό είναι γάμος αριθμός 193!

Mary and Nolan!

I may have gotten a little out of hand on the number of photos here. The reception was at Woosley Hall on the Yale University campus. What a place for a reception! And this was quite the wedding party with a great bunch of characters and personalities. You’ll see what I mean.

The day started at JoBella in New Haven. Hair, makeup, manicures, pedicures, champagne, and Starbucks.

This above photo was not an easy shot. It was taken from 2 rooms away.

The guys… well… Having a few drinks and playing cards at the bar. A little different than the girls.

Not sure what this was about, Nolan. Are you ok? Hair problems?

A beautiful day to walk to the church.

Nolan showing off his cuff links.

A nice grab by my second shooter Greg.

Then mary turns to Nolan and starts making faces.

I just couldn’t contain them.

With the stone and columns I shot a little more of a triditional style than I normally do. It was fitting. In the above photo the sun was bouncing off the building across the street. What great light.

I don’t often show the above shots on my blog. We do both traditional and artistic photos. I usually show the more creative ones.

Here’s what I meant by characters. Everyone came into the reception wearing some “flair.” This was not a halloween theme. Just a fun crowd.

The moon was out throughout the night.

How awesome is Woosley Hall?

Taking out the Robot… oh yeah.

***UPDATE***
I have to add a little technical note. Once again I was told that my off camera flash looked great. Would you believe there were no off camera flashes used for the reception? Everything was actually flash on camera or natural light using the light designers lighting.

I almost forgot! This has been wedding number 192!
