I’ve been pretty lucky in the Wedding Photography Directory, Creative Wedding Photo Contest in the past. And once again I managed to pull something off! Since the contest is a “creative” contest I tend to enter things that could be considered creative to the point of abstract. And that’s what I did this time. And it paid off! Here’s the image that made the top 10:
Usually when people look at this image I can see the look of confusion on their face. Some have figured it out, some don’t see it at all. I stood back with my big zoom lens and focused in on the screen inside the videographers cameras eye piece. I had a small view of the back side of the brides face. The black areas are of the video camera. The tan areas are the alter of the church.
I wasn’t the only one surprised this made the top ten. The Wedding Photography Directory was surprised too! Click here to see the winners and finalists.
I was back in Boston for Emily and Eric’s wedding! I really do love it in Boston. And how can you not love photographing there with two amazing people? And an amazing wedding? While it was amazingly cold out, Emily and Eric had no problems keeping a smile inbetween the shivers.
On a side note, I’m starting a new thing here on my blog with how I display my images. In the past everything was a single stand alone image. Now I’m starting something I’ve been meaning to do for a while, photo collages. I’ve discovered an easier way to put these together. There will be a few stand alone images, but I hope to continue doing this gallery style from now one. It’s a little time consuming, but I know it’s totally worth it! Plus I get to share more images while posting fewer images which will make my blog load faster. Enjoy!
Even their dog got dressed up!
What a great view from their family’s place in Boston.
I ran outside for the opposite angle too.
There were caroler’s greeting guests are the church.
My associate shooter Greg covered the guys.
What a beautiful church. Eric had to bite his lip and close his eyes when Emily was about to come down the isle.
A few quick wedding party shots and everyone was frozen!
How great is the view from The State Room? That’s a 360 degree photo.
I’m totally hooked on this photo of Emily and Eric dancing in the reflection of the windows. You can see the buildings in the floor!

After tomorrow registration is still only $239!!! This includes 2 full days of classes and your meals!
I will be one of the speakers on Tuesday morning. My class will be how we do fusion weddings, from shooting to editing.
This retreat-format conference is hosted by the Boston Photographers Guild and Lens Pro to Go. Sessions will inspire and provide working knowledge that participants may put to immediate use in order to make their businesses more efficient and successful.
This conference is open to all who are interested in professional photography, but is most appropriate for those who are currently working as professional photographers or who are in the midst of establishing their business. We have recruited some of the most successful photographers in the northeast to lead workshop seminars, give lectures, and lead discussions.
This is an amazing opportunity for professional photographers to learn from peers, mingle with mentors, network with friends, and get inspired! The conference is limited to 150 participants, and registration includes all meals so we are all able to fully enjoy the networking opportunities.
