A few images from Maureen and Joe’s wedding ended up on Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book Blog. All but two of the images are mine (the centerpiece at the top and the very last image on the mantle), and one of the other images was shot by my second shooter Greg! Go Greg! The flowers were done by Jessica’s Country Flowers. Great job Jessica! And thanks!

I think it’s time I catch up on some blogging. I’ve been here and there and seemingly everywhere lately. I really don’t have anything to share from my trip to Florida. That was a personal and family vacation. I only brought my G9 point and shoot, which I hardly used. I will share that I played 2 rounds of golf! I can’t wait to start playing here in CT, as I look out the window right now and watch the downpours.
This past weekend I was in New York City for another personal trip with a little business mixed in. Friday I took my annual trip down to the New York International Auto Show. Before going there a group of us checked out the return of the Intrepid since it’s big restoration.

UP! That SR71 Blackbird just wants to go back up in the air!

I always wanted to see what a Concord was like. Once they grounded all of them, I figured a museum was my only chance.

Really small windows compared to commercial airliners.

I wasn’t that impressed with the interior. Pretty small and basic. I don’t know what I was expecting?

The business end looked like something from a space ship. Then again this is a supersonic jet plane that did Mach 2.02 (1,320mph). And if you’re going to fly with such luxury, it’s only fitting the jets were manufactured in part by Rolls Royce.

I was collecting backgrounds and textures from a Concord. Who does that?

I grew up building models so when I saw this one of the Intrepid I was intrigued.

What? Really? That’s been my problem this whole time?!?!?!?!

I suddenly got obsessed with things that were round.

Ok… so… my dad. Usually that’s all I have to say before the person I’m talking to says that’s all I have to say. It was FBI day on the ship and there was a ceremony taking place on the deck. Some speaker was in town and the FBI were everywhere with their sunglasses and plastic earpieces. When my dad asked me to take his picture with the FBI guys standing guard at the entrance I thought, hopefully this doesn’t turn into trouble. So my dad walks over and stands there and I take this shot. The FBI guys TOTALLY broke down and started laughing. AWESOME!

Then it was off to the New York International Auto Show. For those of you who don’t know, I’m a automotive fanatic. I get the magazines, read the blogs, follow the industry, etc. An auto show is a playground for me. Here are a few highlights that were notable.
Hello Koenigsegg! Or as Top Gear calls it, Koenigseggeniggseenignigesseginennsegg.

Spyker.

I really do want an Aston Martin. They are a bit everywhere now, but I do like them.

If your going to charge $206,000, why the extra $30? really? Is that negotiable? Oh wait, I know what it’s for. It’s the Volvo key fob that you get! That makes you feel good about being an exclusive owner of a $206,030.00 Volvo… er… I mean… Aston Martin. Good thing they are changing this.

Ladies and Gentleman, the future of the car. And yes it’s a Honda. This is the hydrogen fuel cell Honda FCX Clarity. Here’s Top Gear’s review.

Did not know this would be here. The all electric Fisker Karma. Awesome. I can’t tell you haw many people (older people) walked by and said “it’s got flat tires!” No. No it doesn’t. Go back to your Ford Taurus.

One of the best supercars made, the Audi R8.

SL65 AMG anyone? It’s a V12 bi-turbo. I can’t stop looking at it.

The new Z is looking really nice.

Ok forget the Z, behind it is the GT-R. The R stands for Respect. Probably the hottest car made right now.

So that wraps up Friday’s events. I had dinner with everyone at Carmine’s, followed by a little business meeting, then to the hotel for some sleep. Kelley came into the city late evening.
Saturday was our 1 year anniversary. It was so nice out that we took a 6 mile walk around central park! We met up with the Boka’s for lunch, took a tour around the city, then off to dinner at One If By Land, Two If By Sea, considered to be New York’s most Romantic Restaurant. Never mind the food. We ate for just over 2 hours with a total of 9 courses (3 of them being dessert). Hands down the best meal and desserts we ever had.
Sunday Kelley walked in a 6 mile charity walk for MS with a few friends. Then it was back home. We had a fantastic weekend.
I really love the pictures of the Concord (I LOVE FLYING), that was an amazing fast plane so I am actually be ok with the basic interior. Really great shots of the Intrepid as well! The car shots are pretty sweet as well!

SL65? Meh. It looks like the same 15 year old who designs Pontiacs gave it the same treatment. The Koenigsegg? Quilted leather below the dashboard? Yes. Oh yes. Want.
I love a good air and space type museum. I had the same reaction when i walked into the concord. like huh? where’s the luxury appointments and the spa section? loved the car photos too, wish i had an extra $230,000!
